About Northlight

Northlight is a demo publication built to show the Publication theme: what a technology newsroom looks like when its stories, pages and newsletter run on it.

What this site is

Northlight is not a real newsroom. It is a working demonstration of the Publication theme, a design for technology and business publications that runs on Drimigo's publishing platform. Every article, author, quote and figure on this site was written as sample content so that you can see how real stories look in the theme: long features, short news items, explainers, video series, author pages and newsletters.

The stories are set in a plausible world. They cover the kinds of subjects a technology publication in India would report on, from space and artificial intelligence to semiconductors, climate technology and policy. Where a story mentions a real institution or a public programme, it does so for context. The people quoted are fictional, and the stories should not be read or cited as reporting.

What the theme is built for

Publications need more than a good-looking homepage. They need archives that stay readable with thousands of stories, article pages that work for a 300-word update and a 3,000-word investigation, search that finds things, and pages like this one that explain who is behind the site. The Publication theme is designed for all of it, at every screen size from a small phone to a wide desktop monitor, in light and dark.

  • Editorial typography: a serif display face for headlines and a clean grotesque for reading interfaces.
  • Designed states for missing images, long titles, empty searches and new sections with a single story.
  • Accessibility built in: keyboard navigation, screen-reader landmarks and colour contrast that meets WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Agent-ready content: everything on the site lives in the content system, where editors and AI agents with the right permissions can work on it.

Who makes it

The theme and the platform are made by Drimigo. Publishers use it to run their own sites under their own brand: their logo, colours and typefaces replace Northlight's, and their newsroom writes the stories. If you are evaluating the theme for a publication, the advertise and contact pages show the kind of information a real site would carry.

Corrections and feedback

Even on a demo site, we want the pages to be right. If something looks broken, reads badly or fails to work with a keyboard or screen reader, please tell us through the contact page. We treat those reports as real bugs.
